BELAMAR COMPLEXO

VILA DO CONDE

CONCEPTION, PROMOTION AND BUILDING

Historic centers have always been associated with landmark buildings, which, not infrequently, have become icons of the places where they are located. With the natural expansion of cities, this type of building – disruptive and impactful – exists today in the networks resulting from urban expansion, bringing life and identity to the most diverse parts of the city.

It is in this context that the Belamar (complex that gives a second life to the old canning factory with the same name) appears, which enhances one of the entrances to Vila do Conde, bringing a new light and dynamism to this part of the city. The modularity in a unique building, the fluidity of accesses and routes – which takes advantage of and enhances the slope of the land – and the symbiosis between architecture and nature are some of the characteristics of this new block, which aims to become an architectural symbol of the municipality.

Composed of a hypermarket, commercial spaces, a gym and a residential building (t1 to t3), services and hotels, the project brings together a set of features that add commercial and tourist value capable of bringing locals and visitors together. A mirror of international reference architecture, Belamar is based on a set of principles that promote functionality, beauty and proximity as essential attributes for the quality of life in cities.

"... MODULARITY IN A SINGLE GENERATION BUILDING, THE FLUIDITY OF ACCESS AND PATHS..."
