DYNAMIC BUILDING
BRAGA
CONSTRUCTION
The Dynamic Building, for commerce and services, is an exceptional building in the urban and morphological fabric of the city of Braga due to the organic language it promotes in the definition of a block.
In terms of volume, the two-part building has two contrasting structures.
The first, with a horizontal matrix and a commercial character, marks the direct relationship with the city, that is, with its road system, as well as in the relationship between pedestrians and the free access to the stores. This more tectonic body is materialized in a curvilinear palate that undergoes expansions and compressions at the level of the ground floor, offering protection from the elements, in its elevated “street” condition.
The second volume, admittedly vertical and with an elliptical section, emerges from the ground floor, tearing the visor along a vertical axis, and confronting itself at 360º with the surrounding landscape. Formally, this body without orientation, has a structure that supports a glass scale skin, ensuring natural light to the program of services that it houses.
